Little Weekend Links 17

Going home always feels quite surreal. It goes by in a whirlwind every time, except for short moments on silent afternoons when there is only the hum of the refrigerator, a kettle boiling in the kitchen, the trains clacking across the tracks in the distance, horns playing like organ chords as they travel past residential areas on a journey toward Canada. Snow falls lightly outside the window. The sun sets through the bare branches of trees beyond the balcony. It is bitter cold but full of warm welcomes and fond memories.

I’m back in London now, where the city noise is endless – the traffic, the pubs, the sirens, the crowds. It feels like Spring. There are flowers growing and buds on the trees. There is energy here and uplifted spirits from a hint of sun.
